Travis Hunter is speaking out against the growing criticism of his fiancée, Leanna Lenee.
The Colorado Buffaloes football star passionately defended Lenee during a Twitch stream, urging fans and critics to leave her alone.
“Why y’all talking about my girl? Go find something else to talk about,” Hunter said. “Y’all are just now starting to talk about me. My girl’s been with me for five years. I know what I got.”
Lenee has faced continuous backlash after a series of recent public events. At the Heisman ceremony, a viral clip showed Colorado head coach Deion Sanders asking Lenee to stand when Hunter’s name was called, sparking chatter about her demeanor. Another video from a pop-up event in New York City showed her sitting while Hunter took photos with fans. In the clip, Lenee allegedly said, “What do you want me to do? I’ll just sit here then,” which drew mixed reactions online.
Hunter clarified the situation, explaining that Lenee was helping his family while he greeted fans and dismissed speculation about her behavior. “She was sitting there because she was holding it down for my family,” Hunter said.
Hunter also highlighted how the online negativity has taken an emotional toll on Lenee, urging fans to leave her alone. “When she wakes up in the morning, I want her to see nothing but positivity,” he said. “Y’all better stop with the clickbait. I’m not playing.”
Despite the criticism, Hunter reiterated his love and loyalty to Lenee, calling their bond unshakable. “She’s been with me through everything,” he said. “Go talk about your girl or find a girl, but leave mine alone.”
