Travis Scott is set to give a one-of-a-kind performance at an inaugural Miami music festival to honor the late Virgil Abloh.
On December 3rd, Travis will take the stage at the Mirror Mirror Music Festival to pay tribute to the fashion designer. The festival will be held in Miami during Art Basel, which is a gathering to connect artists, galleries, and collectors.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Skepta and Benji B. will join Travis to headline the festival. In addition, the curated event will also be produced by Virgil Abloh Securities.
All profits from the event will be donated to the Virgil Abloh Foundation, which launches next year.
“Virgil had the ability to bring everyone together to create magic,” Shannon Abloh, Virgil’s wife said. “With his close collaborators, we wanted to bring everyone together to celebrate Virgil. His legacy, his passion, and his care for others. He believed his real work was championing others and we will continue his work supporting youth in the arts with the launch of the Virgil Abloh Foundation in 2023.”
The late fashion designer passed away from cancer in November 2021 after keeping his diagnosis private throughout his treatment.
Virgil was best known in the entertainment industry for designing outfits for high-profiled celebrities. To add to his designing skills, Virgil founded and created Off-White brand in 2013 and became the first African American to serve as the men’s artistic designer for Louis Vuitton.
