Travis Scott is working on a new initiative to ensure that concertgoers’ safety is prioritized at future concerts.
According to TMZ, the rapper has teamed up with government and music leaders to prevent future tragedies like the one at the Astroworld Festival.
Sources say he is working closing with The United States Conference of Mayors, which “represents the interests of almost 1,400 cities across the country.”
The goal for this initiative is to organize a committee of representatives from government, public safety, emergency response, health care event management, music, and technology to prepare a safety report that would be used to assure the safety and security of future performances.
TMZ obtained an outline of the initiative’s goals which state that they will “aggressively focus on new technologies and innovations that offer ways to address these challenges.”
Outside of Travis, the report will be overseen by Reno Mayor Hillary Schieve, the Chair of the Conference’s Tourism, Art, Parks, Entertainment, and Sports Committee.
Just last week, Travis did an interview with Charlamagne Tha God where he admitted that he felt it was his obligation to fix things moving forward and ensure that something like the Astroworld tragedy never happened again.
