It looks like Travis Scott is catching a break in his recent Paris arrest.
Scott’s representatives have confirmed that he was released from jail after the charges related to a hotel altercation were dropped. Paris prosecutors also told TMZ that the case was dismissed because it was “insufficiently characterized.” Initially, Scott had been charged with “violence against a security guard.”
This development seems to bring an end to Scott’s latest legal trouble, which began on Friday at the Georges V hotel. The “Sicko Mode” rapper got into a dispute with his bodyguard, prompting a hotel security guard to step in. Georges V staff initially claimed that Scott attacked their security member who was trying to assist, leading to the police being called. TMZ reported that Scott sought medical attention after his arrest due to injuries sustained in the scuffle.
Scott’s representatives say he was upset with his bodyguard for not adequately protecting him from eager fans during his trip, which led to the confrontation. It’s unclear whether the guard is still employed by the Grammy-nominated artist.
This case is the latest in a string of legal issues for Scott. He was previously arrested in Miami Beach for disorderly intoxication and trespassing after yelling at people on a yacht in June. While prosecutors have dropped the intoxication charge, he could still face consequences for trespassing.
Scott has not publicly addressed the Paris incident.
