Baller Alert Entertainment & Lifestyle Florida A&M University coach Earl Holmes informed the Orlando Sentinel that the Rattlers have named Tracy Martin an honorary captian of the team this college football season. Tracy Martin is the father of Trayvon Martin who was shot to death in a gated community in Sanford, Florida. Trayvon’s shooter, George Zimmerman, was found NOT GUILTY of second degree murder last month.
A few days ago, Tracy Martin spoke to FAMU’s football team and he left the football team inspired. This is an amazing honor that this historically black university is doing to keep the memory of Trayvon Martin alive through his family’s perseverance. The Rattlers open their football season September 1, 2013 against Mississippi Valley State University. Tracy Martin will perform the coin toss before the game as a part of his captain duties.
