Trevor Noah has filed a malpractice suit against the Hospital for Special Surgery and Dr. Riley J. Williams, both located in New York, for being “negligent” during a surgery he underwent in November 2020.
The 37-year-old comedian and host of “The Daily Show” claims both the New York City hospital and orthopedic surgeon were “careless in failing to treat and care for [him] in a careful and skillful manner.”
In the court documents, Noah claims he was a patient of Dr. Williams between Aug. 25 and Dec. 17, 2020, and underwent surgery on Nov. 23 that same year.
The lawsuit alleges that the hospital and surgeon failed to “prescribe proper medications,” failed to “discontinue certain prescription medications” and failed to do proper testing in order to “diagnose the conditions.”
The documents also state that the comedian suffered “serious personal injury” described as “permanent, severe and grievous.”
