Trevor Noah has squashed any so-called beef with Kanye West, calling it more of a concern on his end.
The comedian put an end to the rumors in a TikTok video shared by The Daily Show. In the clip, someone in the audience asks Noah about his alleged feud with the “Through the Wire” star. Noah has joked about Ye in the past. Recently, he slammed the rapper for his ridiculous social media rants. Despite this, the 38-year-old says it’s all love.
“Why am I beefing with Kanye? That’s an interesting way to phrase it because a beef has to go both ways,” Noah shared. “I was never beefing with Kanye West. I was concerned about Kanye West.”
In the past, Noah has defended and critiqued Kanye. Still, Noah has pleaded with people to help the musician instead of canceling him. Ye fired back at him in March when the host expressed support for Kim Kardashian when Ye publicly went after her while she was dating Pete Davidson. While it is only a matter of time before the Yeezy founder comments on Noah’s latest statements, it will likely not change Noah’s stance to lead with tenderness, even in his critiques.
“I don’t have beef with a human being who has expressed openly that they’re dealing with a mental health issue,” Noah reiterated.
Ye and his ex-wife have spoken openly about his bipolar diagnosis. West even gloated on his “Ye” album gloated about the mental illness with the cover reading, “I hate being bipolar (it’s awesome).” Fans, fellow musicians, and media outlets have attributed his outrageous doings to his mental health struggles, while others believe he uses it as an excuse to do and say outlandish things.
