Wednesday night, things got a little ugly for Trey Songz. While performing in Detroit at the Joe Louis Arena as a part of the “Big Show at the Joe” concert, the 32 year old singer went over his set time. As a result, the venue cut his microphone and the lights. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Songz, real name Tremaine Neverson, knew that he would be cut off and even warned the venue that if they did so, he was going to “go the f*ck crazy.” Trey made good on his promise. As the venue cut his mic, and the lights, he proceeded to tear the stage apart, ripping up equipment and throwing a microphone before jumping into the crowd. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Detroit police then rushed the stage and in doing so, one officer was struck in the head by an object. The injury resulted in the officer suffering a concussion. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Trey Songz was arrested and taken to the Detroit Detention Center where he was charged with malicious destruction of property and resisting and obstructing arrest. The officer who was hit with the object Trey threw, has been released from the hospital.
