The viral concert rant that took place at Joe Louis Arena back in December of 2016 that put singer, Trey Songz, behind bars turned into a lawsuit earlier this year.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The singer allegedly went crazy after the venue cut his show for running too long. In the incident, the singer allegedly began throwing equipment and hit a man in the crowd with a mic stand, The Blast reports. Shortly after, Songz was placed under arrest, but not before a physical altercation unfolded between him and officials.
Sgt. Robert Avery, an officer working crowd control at the concert, claims Songz was intoxicated when he punched him in the face. After resisting arrest, the singer then started calling him racially derogatory slurs saying, “‘F**k you, cracker white motherf**ker,’ ‘Don’t touch me, you white motherf**ker,’ ‘F**k you all honkeys,’ and ‘F**k the police.”
But now, the singer is demanding the entire lawsuit be dismissed, denying he shouted any racial expletives at the Detroit police officer.
