Trey Songz is facing a new civil lawsuit stemming from the alleged sexual assault of a young woman in 2018.
The latest complaint is a refiling of a January 2020 lawsuit accusing the singer of fingering the victim while inside of E11EVEN nightclub in Miami. The plaintiff, who had previously been identified only as Jane Doe, has identified herself as Jahuara Jeffries in the new documents. Earlier this year, Trey and Jeffries reached a settlement. However, a judge dismissed it for reasons unknown, which led to the refiling on Monday.
Jeffries claims that she met the “Na Na” star during a New Year’s Eve party at Diddy’s Miami mansion before continuing the night with Songz and his entourage at the popular Miami club. While she was dancing on a couch inside the club, she says that she felt “fingers being inserted into her vagina.” When she turned around, she saw Songz, who was drunk, “pulling his hand away from her bottom.” Jeffries says another woman in the VIP area with them told her that Songz had done the same thing to her moments before. The revamped lawsuit seeks $20 million in damages and names Diddy and E11EVEN as defendants.
This is the second time in a matter of weeks that the 37-year-old has made headlines regarding inappropriate behavior involving women. Last month, it was announced that he was being investigated for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that Songz is cooperating and has not been charged with a crime.
