This morning, Trey Songz turned himself over to authorities to face the felony domestic violence allegations brought forth against him. Although he maintains his innocence, he has surrendered to cooperate with officials.
Songs’ recent legal issues stem from an alleged incident that occurred last month in L.A. during NBA All-Star weekend, when a woman claimed he punched her in the face for talking to another man.

However, Songz believes the woman, who has since been identified as Andrea Buera, is making the claims for her own personal gain. In fact, his lawyer says Buera’s story has several holes.

According to TMZ, the singer turned himself in around 6 a.m., and was released just two hours later on a $50,000 bond. Just one hour after that, Songz took to Twitter to clear the air.

“For weeks my lawyers & Mgmt have asked me not to comment on this and I initially agreed but this morning I feel that my fam, the women that raised me, my friends & fans especially the youth need to hear from me. I am being lied on and falsely accused for someone’s personal gain,” he wrote. “I won’t be speaking too much more on this but would like to thank you for all the prayers and support.”
