A woman in Miami is suing Trey Songz for sexual assault, however, the singer is asking the judge to dismiss the case as he believes the accuser’s attorney try to pay off a key witness.
New documents have been filed by the singer in response to the lawsuit filed by Jauhara Jeffries, who claims he violated her while partying during New Year’s Eve 2017.
According to Jeffries, after attending a party hosted by Diddy earlier that night, Trey allegedly slipped his finger into her vagina without her consent as she danced in E11VEN nightclub.
Songz believes there is an unnamed witness who can help clear his name.
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ, the singer claim that this witness was at the club with them all night and denies being assaulted herself or seeing Trey assault anyone.
The witness also claims the accuser’s lead attorney approached her in an attempt to get her to change her statement, according to the documents.
Trey’s lawyer claims this witness said the accuser’s lawyer, Ariel Mitchell, wanted her to join the case as a co-plaintiff to bolster the claims against Trey and possibly increase the settlement amount.
According to Trey’s team, the witness claimed Mitchell offered payouts of $100k-$200k, depending on how high she could get them to settle.
The witness allegedly said she would not lie for money and only tell the truth. According to the documents, the witness never saw anyone sexually assaulted during the night in question.
TMZ previously reported that Ariel Mitchell was also representing Dylan Gonzalez, another of Trey’s accusers, who claim he raped her in Vegas.
