Trina is addressing the controversy surrounding her single “BAPS,” which features Nicki Minaj.
During an interview with Carlos King, Trina claimed that her team mishandled the situation when she tried to reach out to Nicki’s team.
According to Trina, someone from her management reacted emotionally and behaved unprofessionally, which complicated things further.
The person claimed that Nicki wasn’t contributing, but Trina believes they overstepped their bounds because it wasn’t their place to comment, especially since they weren’t “cutting checks.”
In the end, Trina revealed that she felt blindsided by her team and betrayed after working so hard to secure the single, only for things not to go as planned.
After taking the blame, Trina stated that her friendship with Nicki remained intact and that Nicki was the first person to reach out when her mom passed away.
She then clarified any confusion about her comments regarding Beyoncé being the best female rapper.
Trina explained that it wasn’t meant as shade to Nicki; she had just come off The Renaissance tour and was answering in the moment.
