Several earthquakes shook Los Angeles on Monday morning before dawn. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the quakes.
The trio of tremors kicked off at around 4:14 a.m. with two small earthquakes near Inglewood that were followed by a magnitude-4.0 earthquake reported at 4:44 a.m. The final and larger quake was centered nearly one mile east-northeast of Lennox, which is one mile from L.A.
Lucy Jones, an earthquake expert, said that the magnitude-4.0 quake was very deep in the earth, though it was strong enough to be felt by those who were awake.
Resident Dorothy Allen said that the quake “rumbled the house.” She was not injured
Multiple residents reported power outages in the area near the earthquakes. However, no injuries, structural damage, or deaths were reported. Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti also confirmed on Twitter that there was no damage reported.
