Tristan Thompson has another reason to celebrate. He has officially become a U.S. citizen.
Thompson, who just scored a new 2 year deal with the Boston Celtics, has also completed the steps for his US citizenship after coming into the country on a student visa.
The news was confirmed via the USCIS Western Region’s official Twitter account. Thompson became an official US citizen on Nov. 24 when he completed the process’s final stages and was sworn in.
In a statement celebrating the good news, Tristan said, “I came to the US on a student visa and have always had big dreams. I’m now truly living the American dream.”
