Rapper Troy Ave has dodged a murder charge after being caught on camera firing a gun during a New York rap concert, TMZ reports.
While he was spared from the most serious charge stemming from the incident, Ave was indicted on five other felonies. The charges consist of one count of attempted second degree murder and four counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
The “All About the Money” rapper has maintained innocence, as can be heard in his recent jail-house recorded freestyle. His lawyer, Scott Leemon, echoed the claim to TMZ recently, stating “The video does not show everything nor explain what happened in the VIP room before Troy came running out, as a victim, after he was shot.”
Leemon says that he will request Ave’s release on bail at his upcoming court hearing this week.
