On Saturday, Donald Trump appeared on Newsmax’s Dick Morris Democracy and blamed President Joe Biden for “destroying our country.”
“All he had to do is nothing,” Trump told host Dick Morris. “We won’t have a country; they’re destroying our country.”
Trump believes that Biden overturning his policies concerning the Mexican border have created the issues we are facing there today.
“If he would have done nothing, we would have had right now the strongest border in history,” he said.
“I had everything worked out with the other countries, whether it’s Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Mexico,” the former president said. “And even Mexico, stay in Mexico. In other words, these people ought to stay in Mexico, and they couldn’t get into our country.”
“And he ended that. It’s just crazy what they did,” Trump said.
Upon taking office, Biden reversed many of Trump’s immigration policies. One of those policies required people entering the country seeking asylum would have to wait in their home country while their court case played out.
He doubled down on claims that Northern Triangle countries are letting their prisoners out and sending them to the United States. He simultaneously gave himself credit for lowering crime at the border.
“We had the strongest in the history of our country,” he said. “Very few people [crossing]. Drugs were way down. Human trafficking was almost stopped.”
He also faulted Biden and Congressional Democrats for their tepid support for Israel after it was attacked by Hamas militants. A ceasefire was negotiated on May 20, which led to a truce after 11 days of fighting.
“I think what’s happened to Israel is one of the great injustices,” he said. “If you look back 10 or 12 years ago, Israel was so protected by Congress. Congress loved Israel.”
He says that now, “the House doesn’t like Israel.”
