Donald Trump says his legal battle with CBS is ending with more than just a cash payout — it’s coming with a massive boost to his visibility.
Trump announced Tuesday that in addition to $16 million already paid by CBS and its parent company, Paramount, the network will dedicate another $20 million in advertising, public service announcements, and similar programming to him. The deal is tied to a settlement stemming from his October 2024 lawsuit over a “60 Minutes” interview with Vice President Kamala Harris. Trump argued that CBS edited the interview to favor Harris during her presidential campaign.
The extra $20 million will come through Paramount’s soon-to-be new owners, Skydance, as part of what Trump says is a broader agreement to close out the dispute. On Truth Social, Trump accused CBS of deceiving the public and said the companies were “desperate to settle.”
