A Florida man is accused of hitting a 13-year-old girl in the face with a flagpole during a political demonstration in favor of Donald Trump on Wednesday.
Norbert Logsdon, 67, has been charged with felony child abuse in connection to the incident, which was caught on video, according to Action News Jax.
Logsdon was demonstrating with a group of Trump supporters when Crystal Ledoux, the girl’s mother, made a U-turn in a parking lot and drove past Logsdon, who was giving passerby the finger. Ledoux and her daughter returned the gesture, shouting “Biden 2020.”
Ledoux pulled into a turning lane, and Logsdon ran up to the car with the flagpole and hit the girl in her face and in the chest.
“I was scared out of my mind, because my daughter was getting hit in the face, and I couldn’t tell where, but I knew she was getting hit with a pole,” said Ledoux. “So, I started rolling the window up, and I couldn’t go forward because there was a car in front of me.”
Ledoux was able to give police the man’s license plate number, and according to the arrest report, the police were able to identify him through the license plate number and arrested him at his home.
Action News Jax reached out to Logsdon via text, and he declined to speak with them. He gave them the name of a fictional law firm to contact.
Nevermind that the 13 year old girl was screaming obscenities and using hand gestures… the mother accepts no responsibility I suppose. He absolutely should not have shoved the round end of that flagpole into their car but the mother and her 13 year old child should not have been provoking him either. They could simply have kept driving and refrained from yelling out of their car and this could have been avoided.
