Trump is making a move in the world of arts and culture, announcing that he has fired the Kennedy Center’s Board of Trustees and appointed himself as chairman. Trump shared the news on social media, stating that he is taking control to restore what he calls a “Golden Age in Arts and Culture.”
In his statement, Trump explained that he removed multiple board members, including the chairman, because they did not align with his vision for the institution. He also promised sweeping changes, including putting an end to drag performances at the Kennedy Center, which he claimed were “targeting our youth.”
“The Kennedy Center is an American Jewel,” Trump wrote. “It must reflect the brightest STARS on its stage from all across our Nation.” He ended his announcement with a familiar promise: “The best is yet to come!”
