Trump is not going out without a fight or acting like a crybaby.
Even though reports say his team has advised him that his legal moves are highly unlikely to make a difference or the fact that officials like the governor of Philadelphia believe he should put his big boy pants on and step aside so America can progress forward, Trump continues to make baseless claims that the election was stolen from him.
On top of that, he is telling America—really his fan base because the rest of us have already accepted Biden and Harris—that the election is far from over.
In a statement released after the announcement that Biden and Harris have changed history and will lead the White House, Trump says Biden has not been certified as a winner and assured his campaign team would get to work Monday to prosecute on his behalf. The statement reads as follows:
“We all know why Joe Biden is rushing to falsely pose as the winner, and why his media allies are trying so hard to help him: they don’t want the truth to be exposed. The simple fact is this election is far from over. Joe Biden has not been certified as the winner of any states, let alone any of the highly contested states headed for mandatory recounts, or states where our campaign has valid and legitimate legal challenges that could determine the ultimate victor. In Pennsylvania, for example, our legal observers were not permitted meaningful access to watch the counting process. Legal votes decide who is president, not the news media.”
Trump continues, “Beginning Monday, our campaign will start prosecuting our case in court to ensure election laws are fully upheld and the rightful winner is seated. The American People are entitled to an honest election: that means counting all legal ballots, and not counting any illegal ballots. This is the only way to ensure the public has full confidence in our election. It remains shocking that the Biden campaign refuses to agree with this basic principle and wants ballots counted even if they are fraudulent, manufactured, or cast by ineligible or deceased voters. Only a party engaged in wrongdoing would unlawfully keep observers out of the court room – and then fight in court to block their access.
So what is Biden hiding? I will not rest until the American People have the honest vote count they deserve and that Democracy demands.”
And now he’s worried about the American people, saying they are “entitled to an honest election.” Ha! This is surely another flip-flopped approach to handling matters when and only when it’s about him.
Trump keeps alleging that democracy is at stake, well now he can see what it felt like when many called upon him to step up and be a president when America was in the crisis of a pandemic and high racial tensions.
Regardless of how you may feel about politics or the Democratic win, Trump’s last four years were pure chaos. And now Biden and Harris are here trying to save democracy, as well as facing unprecedented challenges as they transition into office, hoping to fix the damage Trump has done.
History has been made, states have flipped, a woman of color is the Vice President, and America is moving forward.
Trump, we thank you for showing so many true colors during your time. Take a bow and exit left! It’s up!
