Former President Donald Trump commented on the tragic case of Sonya Massey, a Black woman who recently lost her life after being shot by an Illinois sheriff’s deputy. During a Q&A session with reporters at the National Association of Black Journalists Annual Convention in Chicago, Trump acknowledged that he was not well-versed in the details of the incident.
“I don’t know the exact case but I saw something, and it didn’t look, it didn’t look good to me,” Trump remarked. His response came after being asked for his thoughts on the matter, highlighting a broader discussion about police immunity. Trump added a comment asking, “You’re talking with the water, right?”
