A wax museum located in downtown San Antonio, Texas, has decided to remove a Donald Trump wax figure after visitors kept punching it.
According to The Hill, Louis Tussaud’s Waxworks removed the figure from public view and put it in storage after it sustained multiple beatings.
Trump’s wax figure sustained scratches to the face, and according to Clay Stewart, the regional manager of parent company Ripley’s Entertainment; the scratches were damaging.
“When it’s a highly political figure, attacks can be a problem,” Stewart said, according to the Express-News.
It’s likely the figure will not return to the floor for display, at least not until the new wax figure of President Joe Biden is added, which is currently being made in Orlando, Florida.
A poll taken by YouGov and The Economist found Trump was rated the worst president in U.S. history. However, his base has remained strong over the past two months. He is considered the top contender for the 2024 presidential GOP race.
He’s received 51% support from GOP voters ahead of the upcoming primary.
