According to CBS News, Trump’s former campaign adviser, Roger Stone, was found guilty on all seven charges he faced.
Stone was reportedly charged with witness tampering and obstruction, lying to Congress, and six other charges. He faces up to 50 years in prison.
During the trial, the prosecution described him as a liar that helped Trump win the presidential race, “at any cost.”
“Roger Stone does not get to pick and choose which facts he thinks are important and lie about the rest of them,” stated prosecutor Jonathan Kravis during the closing arguments of the trial.
Stone was charged with lying about collaborating with WikiLeaks to release emails that were hacked by Russia to damage Trump’s then opponent, Hillary Clinton. He also was found guilty of “tampering with a witness, radio personality Randy Credico, pressing him not to cooperate with a congressional investigation that involved Stone.”
