LAX TSA Agent Who Tricked Woman Into Showing Breast Convicted

Authorities say that on June 10, 2019, a former TSA agent tricked a woman into showing her breast at Los Angeles International Airport as she went through the security check.

23-year-old Jonathon Lomeli was sentenced to 60-days in jail.

On Friday, the former TSA agent pleaded no contest to a felony charge of false imprisonment.

According to the young woman, whose identity was not released,  Lomeli told her he needed to look inside her bra to ensure she wasn’t hiding anything. Next, she told investigators that he pulled her pants away from her waist to look inside.

After Lomeli checked the young woman’s bra and pants, he told her he was taking her to a private room for further screening. However, once alone on the elevator, he told her he could continue the security screening there.

According to reports, Lomeli asked her “to show me your full breast” before looking down her pants again. Before releasing her, he told the woman she had a nice breast.

On February 6, 2020, Lomeli was arrested, and he resigned from his job that day.

In a statement on Friday, the California Attorney General’s Office said that Lomeli will be on probation for two years and must complete 52 classes to address sexual compulsion in addition to his jail term.

Lomeli is expected to start his jail term on February 19. He is now barred from working as any security guard and must pay restitution to the victim. The attorney general’s office said that the amount would be determined at a later hearing.
Attorney general Xavier Becerra said in a statement, “We all have the right to be treated with dignity and respect in all places, and no one is entitled to use a position of power to violate those rights.” He added, “Why can’t some men absorb that simple truth? This is 2021, not 1921.”

TSA spokeswoman Lorie Dankers said that the agency “does not tolerate illegal, unethical or immoral conduct.” She explained, “The actions involving a former T.S.A. employee are an affront to the hardworking and committed members of our workforce.”
