The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) found 23 weapons in a man’s carry-on bag in Virginia.
While performing their duties last week, TSA at the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in the Virginia suburbs of Washington found 23 weapons in an unnamed man’s carry-on luggage.
NBC News reports the weapons included a pair of brass knocks, 11 knives, a switchblade, a dagger and nine disposable scalpels. The items were found after he passed his luggage through the X-ray scanner at the checkpoint.
The man was released, but he was given a citation, NBC News reports, per a news release. While the weapons raised alarm at the checkpoint, they would have been allowed if they were stored in the man’s undercarriage.
If a person is caught transporting banned items, they can face “civil penalties of up to $13,910 per violation per person.”
