Battle rapper Tsu Surf has reached a plea deal in his RICO case and still faces up to 30 years in prison.Â
The acclaimed rapper, real name Rahjon Cox, agreed to plead guilty to committing conspiracy to violate the RICO act and transporting firearms as a convicted felon. The rest of the charges were dismissed. The 32-year-old will have to honor the terms of the deal, or any of the dismissed charges could be refiled.Â
Tsu Surf has also agreed to forfeit any property obtained as part of the RICO case.Â
Court documents obtained by HipHopDX show Tsu Surf entered into the plea deal with the United States attorney of the District of New Jersey back in March. A video conference was held on Thursday to confirm the plea.Â
The rapper was initially arrested in October of 2022 by the U.S. Marshals after the RICO charges were filed against him in Jersey City, New Jersey. Tsu Surf was with a woman when the officers showed up, and he barricaded himself inside a building.Â
A crisis negotiator was brought in, and the rapper was eventually taken into custody after peacefully surrendering to authorities.Â
Tsu Surf’s sentencing is scheduled for September of this year. He faces up to 20 years for the conspiracy charge and an additional 10 for gun possession.Â
