Tupac Shakur’s Sister Speaks Out Following Recent Arrest Of Suspect Involved In His Death

The sister of the late Tupac Shakur has spoken out following the arrest of a man accused of being involved in the late rapper’s death.

Sekyiwa Shakur called the charge of accused gang leader Duane “Keffe” Davis “a pivotal moment.” She posted on her Instagram page her feelings following the indictment announced on Friday of Davis on one count of murder, Deadline reported.

She called the day a “victory” but said there is also “reserved judgement” until legal proceedings had been completed.

“It’s important to me that the world, the country, the justice system, and our people acknowledge the gravity of the passing of this man, my brother, my mother’s son, my father’s son.

“There have been multiple hands involved and there remains so much surrounding the life and death of my brother Tupac and our Shakur family overall. We are seeking real justice, on all fronts,” she continued.

Tupac’s step-brother Mopreme Shakur told CNN: “We have been through decades of pain. They have known about this guy, who been running his mouth, for years.”

“So why now? For us, this is not over. We want to know why, and if there were any accomplices.”

Duane Davis is expected to appear in court in the next few days.

The Associated Press and ABC News reported that the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department had arrested Duane “Keffe D” Davis as a suspect in connection to the murder of the iconic rapper, who was fatally shot on Sept. 13, 1996.

The arrest of Davis is the first major development in the cold case.

According to the AP, Davis was taken into custody Friday morning and charged with one count of murder with a gang enhancement. He was described as the “on-ground, on-site commander” who “ordered the death” of Shakur by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department at a press conference on Friday, per AP.

Tupac, 25, was at the height of his career when he passed.
