The incarcerated mogul revealed during a recent call to the “Art of Dialogue” that Pac was not only enamored with Aaliyah but also had big plans to collaborate with her on an album before his untimely death.
“Tupac wanted to sign Aaliyah,” Knight shared, recounting a trip to Las Vegas where they saw her perform alongside Gladys Knight.
“Pac was so excited. I ain’t never seen that little muthaf**ka so happy,” Knight continued, highlighting how much Pac was captivated by her talent. “He wasn’t thinking about signing nobody else. That’s the person he said out of all the girls and women he’d ever seen, he thought she was the biggest star and had the best voice ever.”
Knight further explained that if things had gone differently, Shakur would have indeed worked on an album with Aaliyah.
“He lost his mind over Aaliyah,” Knight added, describing how often Pac spoke about her. “He talked about her days and days. I got tired of hearing it.”
In other news, Duane “Keefe D” Davis, the man being held for his role in Shakur’s murder, faces charges after a judge rejected his immunity claims. Knight previously defended Davis.
