’Twilight’ Star Kristen Stewart Set To Play Princess Diana In New Film

According to Mirror, Twilight Star Kristen Stewart is reportedly playing Princess Diana in a new film about the Royal British Family.

The actress who played Bella Swan in the highly successful film series will portray Princess Diana in the early 1990s when she made the decision to end her marriage to Prince Charles, according to Deadline.

Production for the new movie is reportedly set to begin next year.

The script is written by English screenwriter Steven Knight, who is known for his creation of the BBC drama, Peaky Blinders.

The film will follow the tragic story of the Princess of Wales when she realized she “needed to veer from a path that put her in line to one day be queen.”

The story will take place over the course of the three days of Diana’s last Christmas holiday in the House of Windsor in their Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England.

Pablo Larraín, who is producing the film, told Deadline: “We all grew up, at least I did in my generation, reading and understanding what a fairy tale is.”

“Usually, the prince comes and finds the princess, invites her to become his wife, and eventually she becomes queen,” he said.

“That is the fairy tale. When someone decides not to be the queen, and says, ‘I’d rather go and be myself,’ it’s a big decision, a fairy tale upside down.”
