According to WISN, around midnight on January 30, Anthony Rodriguez, 26, was the only waiter at a George Webb store in Wauwatosa when two twin 20-year-old sisters complained that their order was missing a $3 hamburger.
“They said they weren’t going to pay, and I said, ‘OK, I’m going to take your food since you’re not paying for it,’” Rodriguez told Fox 6. “So I took it and threw it away.”
Before a gunshot was fired, Rodriguez was punched and body-slammed to the ground.
“I never expected to get shot being a server,” He said.
“I was in so much shock I don’t remember being in much pain, but I remember kind of internally freaking out and being very scared, just telling myself, ‘Wow, I’m probably gonna die here,’” he recalled.
Due to the attack, Rodriguez lost many of his teeth and suffered a spine fracture.
“There are still big fragments in my throat from the bullet,” he told WISN.
Rodriguez told the outlet that it’s “amazing” he can still walk and talk following the near-death experience.
As for the twins, they were arrested and charged for attempted homicide and are being held on a $100,000 bond.
