Ice Cube is slamming the NBA for its lack of support for his Big3 basketball league, and Twitter has some questions for the former rapper.
The “Today Was a Good Day” MC joined controversial right-wing host Tucker Carlson on the latest episode of his Twitter series. There, Cube slammed NBA commissioner Adam Silver for being performative in his Black Lives Matter initiatives.
“The NBA is full of great slogans, and they write Black Lives Matter on the court, and they do all those things but pretty full of shit when the rubber meets the road,” Cube told Carlson before highlighting that Silver and the NBA didn’t care about his black-owned smaller league. “It takes a little more effort to really care to work with a league like the Big3. You gotta really want to make a difference.”

While Cube was busy questioning the league’s intentions, Twitter pointed out that the west coast performer was in business with several white men who aligned themselves with racist beliefs. This would include Big3 co-founder Jeff Kwatinetz, who allegedly referred to Big3 players as “rich n*****s.” He is also an associate of President Donald Trump’s disgraced chief strategist Steve Bannon, who was charged with fraud stemming from his failed We Build the Wall campaign. Many are questioning how Ice Cube can possibly be pro-Black and still be affiliated with prejudiced people, including Carlson, who has constantly made racist comments on his shows.
Is Ice Cube wrong, or simply being a smart businessman? Take a look at what Twitter had to say.

The same man who soared to fame on rapping F*ck the Police somehow thinks courting a white nationalist who laughs at police murders of Black men is helping Black America? I don’t care if Ice Cube was giving a PhD dissertation. Who you associate with matters.

Why is Ice Cube in business with Steve Bannon associates? https://t.co/3LqznZVXYm

So, Ice Cube is a supporter of white supremacy.
Bless his cold, dark, dirty going to hell heart.

Doesn’t a Steve Bannon associate co-own the BIG3? Very interesting from Pro-Black everything Ice Cube. https://t.co/V5877EEh0O
