Destiny’s Child and Xscape fans are in an uproar after Xscape singer Kandi Burruss said she and her groupmates would win in a musical Verzuz battle against Destiny’s Child.
During an episode of Watch What Happens Live, host Andy Cohen asked a series of questions putting artists against one another, allowing Lil John and Kandi to choose their winner. When asked who would win the battle between the two female groups, the vote was unanimous.
“Oh really? We the OG’s” said Kandi, while Lil John chanted Xscapes name in the background. Xscape has already participated in the popular Verzuz battle series against SWV.
Can Kandi even sing? pic.twitter.com/JSAbw5Uqt2

Not Kandi and Lil John saying Xscape would beat Destiny’s Child in a verzus. Baby Kandi may have wrote “Bills Bills Bills” but even she can’t beat Michelle in the demo and Michelle wasn’t even a part of the group at the time! Cut it out!

Escape was bad. 🔥🔥 I don’t know what you’re talking about. They sang real, soulful harmonious slow jams and ballads not pop bubble gum songs that sound like high school cheers. @Kandi #Escape

It’s not a “wanna be”. She answered a question on Bravo. She didn’t make up a topic to answer. There’s from for both groups. It wasn’t a question about Kandi v Beyoncé. It was Xscape v Destiney’s Child. BIG difference. I’m not an Xscape fan but I respect their work

But xscape couldn’t even beat SWV 🥴

The only girl group that could be in a Verzuz battle with Destiny Child is The Clarke Sisters! Hits on hits on hits. Kandi needs to focus on that granny eatery. pic.twitter.com/zYlIEjo4DY
