“The Last Blockbuster” Documentary is coming to Netflix, and the reactions on Twitter are very sentimental.
We've all had a Blockbuster night for the last time and never knew it.

Initially released in 2020, the doc tells the story of the ever-famous retail movie chain takes the audience to the only remaining store in Bend, Oregon.
For those who may not have known, Netflix tried to buy Blockbuster in 2000. According to Yahoo Finance, the buyout was set at $50 million.
After Blockbuster CEO Jon Antioco declined the offer, the retail movie franchise suffered while Netflix grew to be worth more than $230 billion.

It is ironic. Netflix and other streaming services are responsible for the demise of Blockbuster. Yet, “viewers will watch the Blockbuster documentary on a streaming service” and reminisce on the good times once shared while going to buy a movie.

The film ending up on Netflix was always the “perfect ironic place,” the film’s director Taylor Morden said.
“The first day we started working on the doc, we thought it would be a beautiful irony if we could get it on to Netflix,” writer Zeke Kamm said. “It seemed like the perfect fit considering the history between the two companies.”
