Social media users were not happy as of 11:38 a.m. ET Monday morning. And that’s all because Facebook and other apps owned by the tech giant, including Instagram, WhatsApp, and Messenger, went down simultaneously.
Ironically, a spokesperson for the company took to Twitter to let users know they were working to get things back to normal.
We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

While it’s not clear what caused the outage, the error page users see when trying to connect to the platforms suggests a Domain Name System (DNS) error is responsible for the outage.
As you would have guessed, many people took to Twitter to express their frustrations, memes, and jokes to pass some time.
