Two Atlanta Cops Get Into A Fight Over Who Can Run Fastest; One Pulls A Gun

Just when you thought you’ve heard all the officer related news you could take, it gets better. Two police officers in Atlanta have been relieved of duty after getting into a fist fight over who could run the fastest.

The incident took place early Friday morning at  R. Thomas Restaurant in Buckhead, where officers Stephen Green, Joseph Tyer and others met for dinner.  Green and Tyer went back and forth over who could run faster but things quickly escalated when Tyer got upset. According to a statement Tyer said, “I’m going to punch you in the face,”  which took Green by surprise.  Green responded “What?” to which Tyer repeated,  “I’ll punch you in the face.”

The two officers eventually came to blows, luckily the scuffle was broken up by the other officers at the table. The report says Tyer allegedly pulled his gun but thankfully no shots were fired.

Tyer, who had been with the Atlanta Police Department since 2012, resigned. Green, who had been with the force since 2011, was placed on administrative leave while The Office of Professional Standards conducts an investigation.

Really? All this over who can run the fastest? See, this is what happens when Batman and Superman come in your city and solve all the actual crimes for you. Police officers get bored.
