Just hours after a series of bombs were sent and addressed to prominent Democrats and Trump critics, such as Forever President Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Maxine Waters, CNN and more, two more pipe bombs were found in Delaware and New York City – one addressed to former Vice President #JoeBiden and the other to Robert De Niro.
While none of the devices have harmed anyone thus far, officials say the packages “appear to be from the same sender.”
According to the New York Times, the device addressed to Biden was screened at a postal service facility in Delaware, however, similar to the suspicious package address to former AG Eric H. Holder, it was being redirected to FL congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who was labeled as the return sender.
As for the other package, which was addressed to Robert De Niro and sent to his company, TriBeCa Productions in New York City, security personnel discovered it around 5 a.m. and immediately contacted the city’s bomb squad, who removed the device within an hour and a half.
Although further details surrounding the origin of packages remain unclear, officials have identified an obvious target – vocal Trump critics, and as a result, Trump has blamed the media for the recent scares.
“A very big part of the anger we see today in our society is caused by the purposely false and inaccurate reporting of the Mainstream Media that I refer to as Fake News,” Trump wrote in an early morning tweet. “It has gotten so bad and hateful that it is beyond description. Mainstream Media must clean up its act, FAST!”
