For the last 18 years, the murder of Jam Master Jay, who served as a DJ for the pioneering rap group Run-DMC, has remained a mystery. But now, two men, who have long been suspected of the crime, have been indicted in connection to the case.
According to the New York Times, Ronald Washington and Karl Jordan Jr. have been indicted on charges of murder while engaged in drug trafficking. The indictment is expected to be announced on Monday.
While Washington, 56, is already in federal prison serving a sentence for robbery, 36-year-old Jordan was taken into custody on Sunday for the crime.
Jam Master Jay, whose real name is Jason Mizell, was gunned down on October 30, 2002, in Merrick Boulevard recording studio in Queens. He was 37.
