In New York City, authorities are searching for answers after two newborn babies were found deceased wrapped in paper.
The grim discovery was made at 2 p.m. on Monday at a multi-story building on College Avenue and East 172nd Street in the Claremont section of the Bronx. A superintendent located the two baby boys on the building’s patio. An ambulance responded to the scene, and the infants were rushed to Bronx Lebanon Hospital, where they were pronounced dead. The babies are thought to be about a week old.
It is believed that one infant may have been stabbed, and the other may have been thrown from a roof. However, the children were transferred to the medical examiner’s office for confirmation.
As of Tuesday, it was still unclear if they are related to one another. Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage to determine who might have brought the babies to the location and who their parents are.
