Two Men Arrested for Stealing Corona Beers From CVS; Staff Says They Claimed to Have “The Virus”

Two men have been arrested after stealing Corona beers and claiming to have “the virus” amid the coronavirus pandemic.

According to local news, Coconut Creek Police arrested the men, who have since been identified as 32-year-old Steven Cyriacks and 42-year-old Zavier Permenter.

The incident occurred Tuesday at a local CVS on W. Hillsboro Blvd, where the two men swiped two cases of Coronas and detergent containers before reportedly telling staffers they had “the virus.”

The two then fled the seen in a stolen Chevrolet van, which was reported stolen from Fort Lauderdale. After a short pursuit, the pair was arrested and charged with shoplifting, vehicle theft and resisting arrest without violence.
