Florida police arrested two minor boys who reportedly broke into a gunshot and stole several firearms and ammunition.
On Wednesday, police arrested two brothers, ages 14 and 11, after they broke into a gun shop and stole 22 firearms along with ammunition, NBC News reports. The boys were not named due to them being minors.
The robbery took place on Wednesday at around 3 a.m. When officers responded, they saw the brothers running “away armed with multiple handguns, ammunition, magazines and long guns,” said Sgt. Julie Green, a spokesperson for the Cape Coral police.
“Due to the weight of the multiple guns and ammunition stolen, the juveniles dropped the guns and fled on foot in separate directions,” Green said.
The boys were charged with 22 counts of grand theft of a firearm, one count of armed burglary, one count of criminal mischief, and one count of resisting without violence, NBC News reports. The 14-year-old was given an additional charge for violating his probation. All of the weapons have been returned.
