Chicago police are investigating a shooting that occurred during a Friday night White Sox game at Guaranteed Rate Field.
The Associated Press reports that two women were injured during the incident. A 42-year-old woman suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center and listed in fair condition. A 26-year-old suffered a graze wound to the abdomen and refused medical attention.
The team stated that it is unclear if the shots originated from inside or outside the stadium. White Sox security confirmed that no “altercation of any kind” preceded the shooting. The victims were injured in Section 161 in left-center field.

“The White Sox are thinking of the victims at this time and wishing them a speedy recovery,” the statement read.
The went on uninterrupted, and the White Sox suffered a 12-4 loss against the Oakland As. However, the team canceled a postgame concert with Vanilla Ice, Rob Base, and Tone Loc due to “technical issues.”
Saturday’s game is expected to go on as scheduled.
