Two Transgender Women Murdered Two Days Apart; Marks 17th and 18th Trans Murder This Year

The number of transgender people being murdered is on the rise, and the two most recent victims died this week, within two days of each other. 17-year-old #BaileyReeves and 21-year-old #BeeLove.

Authorities say that Bailey Reeves was gunned down while leaving a party at around 8 pm on Parkwood Avenue in Baltimore. Witnesses say they saw several people running away from the scene.

WJZ reports that a 16-year-old neighbor, whose name is unknown, told authorities that she heard three gunshots while getting ready for dinner inside of her home. She said she came outside to screaming and a body lying in the road. ”We saw her laying in the middle of the street in a pool of blood, it even traumatized me,” she revealed.  

Reeves suffered multiple gunshots to her torso. Officers arrived on scene and rushed her to a nearby hospital, where she later died.

Two days later, Bee Love was shot multiple times in Clewiston, FL. Reports say that Love’s hands were tied together and then a car was set on fire with her inside of it. Investigators report that the body in the vehicle was burned beyond recognition.

Although officials did not immediately release the victim’s name, a number of social media users claim that the victim was Bee Love.

Bailey Reeves and Bee Love mark at least 18 transgender people killed as of Wednesday in the US. Reports indicate that out of the 18 people killed, a majority have been black, including Reeves and Love.

Authorities for both cases are asking anyone with information to contact them.
