Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, got a hefty donation to the GoFundMe raising money for his legal defense against the Louisville Police Officer suing him.
On Sunday, filmmaker Tyler Perry made a $100,000 donation to Walker’s legal defense fund. He made two $10,000 donations, followed by a $50,000 donation, and lastly, $30,000, according to TMZ. The huge donation pushes Walker over his original goal of $100,000.
Walker is being sued for emotional stress and trauma by officer Jonathan Mattingly. Mattingly was shot in the leg during the botched raid on Taylor’s home. Walker maintains that police did not announce themselves, and he believed the house was being broken into. Mattingly refutes that claim, saying the cops did signal their arrival and uses this detail as the basis for his lawsuit.
