Tyler Perry is known to lend a helping hand to anyone whenever he can.
The filmmaker sat down with ‘TODAY with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hagar’ to discuss supporting Prince Harry and Meghan Markle during their move to the U.S. in 2020. While speaking about Tyler’s generosity, the show’s hosts brought up the good deed, which he noted: “was a very difficult time for them.”
“What I know about the two of them, and I wish the world knew, how much these two people love each other,” he says. “They found each other out of all these odds against them finding each other.”
He continues, “And the love they have is really, really moving and I wanted to do anything I could to support them.”
Further speaking on Harry and Meghan’s relationship, Tyler made it clear that “If I don’t have that, what she and Harry have, I don’t want it. That’s really amazing.”
In an August interview, Meghan spoke about her friendship with the ‘Madea’ creator. The Duchess shared that Tyler reached out to her after marrying Harry in 2019 to share encouraging words.
Although the two never met face-to-face, Meghan opened up to Tyler about the controversy surrounding her Royal duties.
“Sometimes, you can tell your life story to a stranger on a plane as opposed to some of the people that are closest to you,” she said.
