Singer, Tyrese Gibson did a “not so smart move” on “The Ricky Smiley Morning Show,” he said he only married his ex-wife Norma Gibson to keep her in the country. Tyrese explains, “I married you to keep you in the country. I never married you because I was happily married. You’re from London. I married you because we had a baby on the way and I had to do whatever I had to do so that I’m not traveling all the way to London just to spend quality time with my baby. You know that I married her to keep her in the country. I’m giving ya’ll the raw scoop.”

Not a smart move on Tyrese’s part because what he admitted to is called marriage fraud, which is illegal and a federal crime (“Any individual who knowingly enters into a marriage for the purpose of evading any provision of the immigration laws shall be imprisoned for not more than 5 years, or fined not more than $250,000, or both.”)

Tyrese and his first wife have been going through it for the last year. She filed a restraining order against him in September, claiming he beat his 10-year old daughter, Shayla. There was an investigation and the charges were later dropped. The courts later awarded them 50/50 custody, beginning in January and they denied his ex-wife’s request to make the restraining order permanent.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

The list of the questionable things Tyrese has done and has been a part of, is concerning. Maybe it is time for Mr. Gibson to get a new PR team.
