Tyrese has decided to take a step back from social media, sharing an emotional video on Instagram where he expressed his deep gratitude and raw feelings. The singer and actor, known for his candidness, appeared visibly emotional as he spoke about the importance of brotherhood, friendship, and the pressures men face in society today.

In the video, Tyrese repeated, “I’m very grateful, my heart is full,” several times, emphasizing his appreciation for the friends who have shown up for him. He reflected on the strength of bonds and brotherhood, reciting heartfelt words about how friendships evolve into unbreakable bonds, stating, “When brotherhood comes first, then the line will never be crossed.”

The video, which showed Tyrese crying, was accompanied by a powerful caption where he announced his retirement from social media. He explained that he’s going “dark” to focus on prayer and to avoid the “very nasty and unbearable narrative” that men shouldn’t cry. Tyrese passionately addressed the stigmas surrounding men expressing their emotions, particularly in situations like miscarriage, where men are often overlooked in their grief.

Tyrese also touched on the societal pressures men face today, speaking out against the term “toxic masculinity” and how it’s used to undermine real men. He shared that his personal journey, including the pain from his divorce in 2020, has fueled his latest project, the album “Beautiful Pain.” According to Tyrese, the album wouldn’t have been possible if he were still married, as it was born out of the deep emotions he experienced during this challenging time.

In his caption, Tyrese also addressed his relationship with Zelie Timothy, making it clear that she has been a source of joy and healing for him. He praised her for helping him rediscover happiness amid his struggles, and acknowledged the ongoing battle between genders in society.

The emotional post concluded with Tyrese expressing his exhaustion, stating he feels “drained and empty” after giving his all to his recent projects. He asked to be left alone to pray and process everything he has been through, and mentioned that all he wants is a call from three significant figures in his life—Denzel Washington, Stevie Wonder, and Minister Louis Farrakhan.

His new album “Beautiful Pain,” which he describes as the most important album of his life, is available on all streaming platforms, alongside the soundtrack to his movie “1992.”

Tyrese, your announcement struck a chord with many of us who often feel the weight of social media. It’s a brave move to ‘go dark’ and seek solitude for reflection and healing. Your authenticity has always been a part of what makes you relatable, and stepping back shows just how much you value your own mental health. Take all the time you need; your fans will be here, supporting you from the sidelines
