Tyrese Gibson’s divorce from Samantha Gibson continues to make headlines, and this time, it could land him behind bars. Samantha has filed her fourth motion to hold the actor in contempt for allegedly refusing to pay $492,651.99 in legal fees to her attorneys, The Gleklen Law Firm and Bloom Lines Alexander.
According to court filings obtained by Complex, Samantha’s legal team says Tyrese has ignored previous court rulings and made no attempt to settle the debt, despite his ability to pay. Judges already issued contempt rulings in 2023 and 2024, and now her lawyers are seeking criminal contempt, which could lead to a 20-day jail sentence.
Tyrese hasn’t been quiet about his feelings toward Samantha. In an interview on Angela Yee’s “Lip Service,” he said, “There’s nobody in the world who’s caught me more off guard and hurt me more than that woman.” He added, “I will never ever be able to unsee and unfeel.”
The former couple married in 2017 and share a daughter, Soraya. Their divorce was finalized in 2020, but their financial battles are far from over.
