Tyrese took to Instagram Friday to share the jailhouse message he received from R. Kelly. The singer sent his condolences to Tyrese for losing his mother.
Tyrese’s mom, Priscilla Murray Gibson, passed away last month after battling COVID-19 and pneumonia.
“Hey lil bro, my condolences to you about your mom. She is in a better place with my mom, and they both smiling down on us..I pray for you and keep it going. One Love.” Kelly wrote in the screenshot Tyrese shared.
“I know it a lot having to deal with this in the limelight but keep ya head up,” he continued.
Tyrese expressed his gratitude and explained that Kelly’s words brought him to tears.
“Yup….. just broke down in my trailer took me 45 mins to recover love you Kellz damn, he is on the inside and still took time to get Condolences out to me and my family,” he captioned the post. “Love you Kellz…… No comments needed…..”
He went on to declare Kelly the R&B King before admitting he wished the embattled singer could work on music while behind bars.
“Selfishly I wish they could sneak a protools rig and a mic in your jail cell so that you can unload all of those ideas cause I know you don’t write all of your hits have been freestyled off the top…… But that’s just me,” he continued. “R&B King!”
Kelly is currently incarcerated at the Metropolitan Detention Center. In September, he was found guilty of all nine counts against him, including racketeering and sexual abuse. He is scheduled to be sentenced in May.
