The USDA has recalled nearly 30,000 pounds of Tyson Food’s dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets due to potential contamination with metal pieces.
Twenty-nine-ounce packages of the dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets with a “best by” date of September 4, 2024, have been recalled in several U.S. states, including Alabama, California, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
So far, only one minor injury has been reported in connection with the chicken nuggets.
The nuggets, which were made on Sept. 5, are in lot numbers 2483BRV0207, 2483BRV0208, 2483BRV0209, and 2483BRV0210.
Tyson Foods characterized the metal pieces in the recall as small and flexible, emphasizing that the recall was a precautionary measure.
The USDA is advising people with the nuggets to either dispose of them or return them to the purchase location. Tyson recommends that consumers who bought the affected product cut out the UPC and date code, discard the product, and contact 1-855-382-3101.
